MATCHUP BREAKDOWNS
Steve (157.04) annihilated Keith (100.24)
Despite Keith's psychic negative energy bouncing around State Farm Stadium for the Cardinals/Rams game, Steve's team managed to put together his highest score of the season. It was the best performance anyone has had since Andrew set the season record of 160.9 in week 10. Steve's massive point total and overall record make it virtually impossible for other teams to overtake him and bump him from a top four finish. He has essentially secured a playoff spot, sits at the top of the standings, and now has the highest total score for the season with 1587.48 points scored.
- Josh Allen accounted for 43.7% of Keith's total score, the highest percentage of any player for any team this week.
- Steve's Wide Receivers were unstoppable - Puka Nacua had the highest score of any WR this week (28.70) and Michael Wilson (26.20) was right behind him.
- This game had the highest combined score of the week with 257.28 points between the two teams.
Charles (111.36) bested Greg (105.14)
Charles and Greg are now ranked 6th and 8th respectively for total points scored, but Charles has moved into second place and is tied with Steve at one game ahead of the other contenders. He's virtually a lock for the playoffs, barring an insane scenario. Greg still has work to do to have a shot!
- Brandon Aubrey was the star for Charles, giving him the highest score from any Kicker this week with 23.00 points. He outscored every WR and RB on his own team
- This matchup had the highest scoring Kicker combination, with Cam Dicker (20 points) as the second highest scoring kicker of the week, giving a wild 43 points scored from kickers between the two teams.
- Greg’s starting TE, Oronde Gadsden, posted the lowest non-zero score of any starter this week (0.70 pts).
Andrew (101.84) eliminated Mike (97.60)
Andrew edged out Mike this week, and his victory put him into a great position as the season closes. Mike led in the standings and total points scored columns for several weeks, but now he's leading just in just two stats. Jack, and shit. I'm just kidding, he's less than 20 points behind Steve for the regular season point total and a chance to win his buy-in back. So, at least he's got that goin' for him.
- Brock Bowers (10.60) gave Mike the highest score from any Tight End This Week
- Andrew had the highest point total from bench players this week with 52.66 points from non-starters
- There were three teams without a single player that was the top performer for their position - Greg, Anthony, and Andrew. Of these, only Andrew didn't have a single player that performed in the top 3 slots for their position
Patrick (112.40) defeated Andy (105.38)
The first true "Irrelevant Bowl" of the season. Both of these teams were already out of playoff contention as of last week and neither of them are close to contenting for the highest point total like Mike. Credit to both of you guys for still fielding viable lineups and keeping it real! Andy get's to play in the "Irrelevant Bowl II" this week against Anthony, but Patrick has a chance to play spoiler for Greg.
- Jahmyr Gibbs was the highest-scoring running back of the week, exploding for 30.00 points for Patrick.
- Patrick had the biggest disappointment of all players this week with Jalen Hurts scoring 17.32 points under his projected score, the most of all players started.
- Patrick relied heavily on the Detroit Lions, with over 50% of their total points coming from Gibbs, Jameson Williams, and kicker Jake Bates.
Anthony (92.48) scraped by Billy (88.96)
Billy's four game win-streak comes to an end as he goes down in this week's other pointless matchup. Anthony actually has the fourth highest point total for the season but is 100 points back from the leader, so that's not as great as it sounds. Again, props to both of you for starting full lineups and going hard until the end!
- This was the lowest-scoring matchup of the week, with a combined total of just 181.44 points.
- The Miami Defense had the highest Defensive score of the week and was the second-highest scorer for Billy with 22.00 points, just behind Jordan Love.
- Anthony had the WR with the largest wiff compared to projected points, with George Pickens scoring 3.7 points against a projection of 13.03
PLAYOFF PROJECTIONS
I've talked a little about different teams playoff situations already, but here's the full breakdown:
Virtual Locks
No one has truly clinched a playoff spot but Steve and Charles are pretty much in.
1. Steve (9-5) - With the league-high score this week and a 9-5 record, Steve would need to lose and see every other team win with ridiculously high scores to be pushed out of the top four. It is virtually impossible for Steve to miss the playoffs but a big win would assure him the number one seed.
2. Charles (9-5) - Charles defeated Greg, and is now at least one game ahead of everyone but Steve. If he loses this week and all of the remaining contenders win, there is a slim chance he could be passed by and end up in 5th place. Greg is currently in 5th place and is only 20 points behind them in the total points scored so he needs to keep pace this week in total scoring to stay ahead of him for any potential tie-breaker
Contenders
3. Andrew (8-6) - He did exactly what he needed to do and should feel very confident. By moving to 8-6, he holds the tiebreaker card against everyone due to his massive point total. Even with a loss, he likely makes it in over Keith or Greg due to points. A win for Andrew and a loss for Charles and Steve could even see him jump up into first place if he has a big week and Steve struggles. He face's Billy's last place team this week, who he absolutely trounced back in week six.
4. Greg (8-6) - Greg needed a win this past week to feel comfortable going into his final matchup. A win this week is only good enough if Keith and/or Andrew lose. Greg faces Patrick's inconsistent team in the final regular season matchup, having beat him handily earlier in the season.
5. Keith (8-6) - Keith lost momentum at the worst time. He has the same record (8-6) as Andrew and Greg, while his total points scored on the season is lower than Andrew but substantially higher than Greg. To secure a playoff spot Keith needs to either win, or have Greg also take a loss as well. He's almost 100 points ahead of Greg in total points, so it would take an insane point swing this week for Greg to leap past Keith for a fourth place tiebreaker. Keith plays Charles, who he beat earlier in the season in a close contest.
Eliminated
Mike, Anthony, Andy, Patrick, and Billy have all been statistically eliminated from playoff contention.
Mike and Anthony are playing for pride, but as I mentioned earlier, Patrick and Billy both have a chance to play spoiler. Good luck to everyone in this final week of the regular season!
