Andy silences the haters by beating top-contender Mike in a blowout

LEAGUE-WIDE SUMMARY

Lowest Score: Mike (76.0)

Largest Margin of Victory: 36.1 points – Steve (127.14) beat Greg (91.04)

Smallest Margin of Victory: 10.58 – Charles (91.06) beat Andrew (80.48)

Top Individual Performer: Caleb Williams QB 42.70 points for Patrick

Matchup 1: Keith (114.12) vs. Billy (82.52)

In the last two weeks Billy has fielded a competitive team, but this week his squad folded like an old camping chair. Keith team was making s’mores while he lounged around comfortably while Billy had to eat burned hotdogs while sitting in the dirt. Camping jokes!

  • QB Comparison: Keith’s QB, Josh Allen, scored more than triple the points of Billy’s counterpart with Love bringing only 10.02 points to the table
  • Solid Play: Keith was able to secure a decisive 30+ point victory despite having only two of his players that scored more than their projections
  • Here’s the Kicker: With 10 points from Boswell, Billy’s kicker outscored five of the teams other starters including Olave, Charbonnet, Kittle, Colins and the New England Defense
  • Bench Regrets: Keith and Billy both left their highest non-QB scorers on the bench with Rico Dowdle (26.10 points) and DJ Moore (20.98 points) respectively.

Matchup 2: Charles (91.06) vs. Andrew (80.48)

Not a razor thin margin, but this was the closest game of the week as Andrew’s team disappointed across the board. Maybe if he gives his team a pep-talk in his signature Jamaican accent it will lift their spirits and they’ll try harder next week.

  • Burned by the Backfield: Andrew's top RBs and the heart of his team, Taylor and Achane, combined for just 16.30 points versus a 30 point projection
  • Nada Chance: Accounting for all possible combinations of starters for both teams, there was no opportunity for Andrew to have won even if he started his best active players and Charles started his worst
  • Legendary Bench: The league's highest-scoring bench player, Lamar Jackson (QB, 33.56 pts), belonged to Charles who has never heard the phrase “start your studs”
  • Projecting: Both teams got poor production from their RBs, with every single rostered Running back scoring less than the expected amount

Matchup 3: Anthony (131.30) vs. Patrick (104.80)

Anthony put up this week’s highest score, but like a hooker with a neck brace, Patrick’s team didn’t go down easily. That’s an original joke I just made up when trying to come up with something funny for “go down easily”. Damn I’m good.

  • Da Bears: This matchup featured the highest scoring player of the week with Chicago QB Caleb Williams busting out 42.70 points of whoop ass, but still not enough for the win
  • Zesty Combo: Justin Herbert (QB, 32.70) and the Pittsburgh Defense (21.00) combined for more than 50 points, generating a fair amount of Anthony’s final score for the win
  • Gibb It Up: Jahmyr Gibbs was a massive disappointment for Patrick, as one of his most reliable players only brought in 2.80 points
  • Byes: This matchup had significantly more players on bye week than any other matchup, with Anthony (3) and Patrick (2) combining for 5 players taking the week off.
  • Williams: More than half of Patricks 104.8 points came from players with the last name Williams.

Matchup 4: Steve (127.14) vs. Greg (91.04)

This matchup was the biggest blowout of the week with a 36 point margin of victory for Steve. His big win, and Mike’s big loss, has bounced Steve back up into first place.

  • Double Digits: Steve’s 6 players with “double digit” scores was only matched by Keith and Anthony for the most starters with 10 or more points this week
  • WR Woes: The biggest positional disappointment for Greg came from his Wide Receivers, who combined for Golden and McConkey combining for just 6.5 points
  • Unbalanced: Greg’s team had 3 players on a bye week, while Steve had none, in the most lop-sided bye week impact of this week’s matchups.
  • Defensible: Steve could have had a slightly bigger win with 15 points from his Minnesota Defense, while Greg could have closed the gap a little with 15 points from LaPorta on his bench

Matchup 5: Andy (104.42) vs. Mike (76.00)

Andy was project to lose by more than 10 points but his squad put up a great performance. Mike’s team decided to take a mental health day off and most of his players didn’t show up.

  • The Game-Losing Mistake: Mike would have won by less than a point if he had started his other tight end, Brock Bowers (31.30 pts), over Tyler Warren (2.60 pts).
  • Stack Backfire: While it’s worked great for some games, the poor performance of Patrick Mahomes (11.5), Rashee Rice (14.6) and the Kansas City Defense (4.5) resulted in some problems as KC struggled against the Buffalo Bills this week.
  • High Performance Machine: Andy had two of the highest scoring positional players this week with Tee Higgins bringing in 26.1 points, while Drake London put up a nice 29.8 points on his bench
  • Defense Letdown: The Green Bay D (5.00) significantly underperformed their 11.28 projection, but Andy won anyway.
