Week Four Analysis
Week Four – Biggest Story
Billy drops another chance for his first win, falls to 0-4 in close loss to Patrick
League-Wide Summary
Highest Score: Mike (141.80)
Lowest Score: Andrew (88.48)
Largest Margin of Victory: 26.96 (Keith over Greg)
Smallest Margin of Victory: 2.82 (Patrick over Billy)
Top Individual Performer: Patrick Mahomes (35.30 points for Mike)
Perfect Lineup: Keith had the only team with a perfect line-up this week, as all his starters outscored possible substitutes from his bench
Matchup 1: Mike (141.80) vs. Anthony (121.02)
This matchup was our league’s barn-burner of the week. By Sunday night both rosters had played in full, and Mike’s team was the one holding the torch, with Anthony’s team trapped inside of the blazing building, screaming for mercy and throwing themselves against the barricaded door. Wait, that’s not what a “barn-burner” means?
- Mahomes breaks two-year drought: My hommie threw four touchdown passes for 35.30 points, his first 4-TD game since October 2023, completely carrying Mike to victory. That was lit brah.
- Elite bench depth: Mike had 70.52 bench points compared to Anthony's 42.96, with Drake Maye (27.22) and DK Metcalf (18.60) providing elite backup production.
- First Place Fortress: Mike maintained first place at 3-1-0 with league-leading 478.26 points for, extending their winning streak to two games and further building his total points scored lead.
- Costly lineup blunder: Anthony left Baker Mayfield (23.86) on the bench while starting Matthew Stafford (16.52), costing 7.34 points in a 20.78-point loss.
Matchup 2: Keith (132.96) vs. Greg (106.00)
It was a game that was competitive up until Sunday night, but by the end of the evening Keith had secured a victory and sent Greg and his Dicker packing. Officer cueball put up a respectable score but it wasn’t enough to secure a win.
- A Consistency Machine: Allen posted 29.86 points in a comfortable win, continuing his streak as the most consistent QB1 in the league this season.
- Breakout Party: Jeanty exploded for 31.50 points, his season-high, establishing himself as an infallible RB option that can surely never have a bad game again.
- Playoff push momentum: Keith improved to 2-2-0 and moved into fifth place, now on a two-game winning streak with 438.86 points for.
- WR room implosion: Greg' WR corps managed just 12.80 total points (1.10 + 6.30 + 5.40) compared to Keith's 32.70, a devastating 19.90-point positional assjam.
Matchup 3: Andy (100.50) vs. Charles (97.08)
This was a close game right up until the end, with both teams battling right up until the final moments of play on Monday night. Charles was on the edge of his seat, and Andy had been already been asleep for 4 hours when his team finally emerged from the frey, victorious. I’m sure he’s thrilled to be finding out that he won as he reads this right here and now.
- Defensive Masterpiece: Detroit DST scored 21.50 points, the highest defensive performance of the week, and saving Andy’s ass in this 3.42-point squeaker.
- Nice Bench You’ve Got There: Andy left 30.74 points on the bench with Bo Nix's massive game over the struggling Bengals, showing that matchups as Kyler Murray struggled against a more difficult matchup.
- Ugly Wins Still Count: Andy improved to 3-1-0 and fourth place despite the lowest scoring effort among 3-1 teams
- RBs Have the Meat: Charles dominated the RB position 40.10 to 14.30, but it wasn’t enough for a win
Matchup 4: Andrew (88.48) vs. Steve (110.40)
Yahoo had projected this to be a close game, but Steve’s was never worried as his team has been much more consistent. It’s not all fun and games for Steve though, as he has much bigger problems in life to worry about, like if he should accept the awesome free boat that he has recently been offered.
- Standings earthquake: Steve moved to 3-1-0 and second place with the win, while Andrew dropped to 1-3-0 and ninth place on a two-game losing streak.
- Below Average Backs: Andrews top RBs, Taylor and Achane, still combined for almost 26 points, but that’s significantly below their combined season average of 35+ PPG
- Chasing Points: Andrew had another disappointment from Ja’Marr Chase, who’s season low of 2.3 points documents the continued struggle of the Bengals to move the ball. It’s funny because it’s usually players from another NFL team in Ohio that are usually the ones to let Andrew down.
- QB Gap: Steve's Carson Wentz (27.20) outscored Andrew's Daniel Jones (14.38) by 12.82 points, account for about half of the margin of victory (21.92).
Matchup 5: Billy (93.68) vs. Patrick (96.50)
This was the lowest scoring game of the week, and the closest margin between the two teams final scores as well. Billy desperately needed a win, but instead his kicker’s 9 points outscored all but three of his other players. Patrick had some stinkers as well, but he’s got 3 wins to fall back on.
- Good News for Billy: Jordan Love threw for 32.28 points, the second-highest individual score of the week and his best game of the season, giving a bright spot on an underperforming roster
- Backwards Defenses: Both team’s defenses were a liability, with the Packers and Ravens managing to score negative points this week.
- Coin flip finish: The 2.82-point difference was decided by individual player variance, with both teams having similar total roster production. This isn't new to Billy as 3 of his 4 losses have been by less than 3 points. Ouch!
- Victory Over Chaos: Patrick overcame terrible performances from AJ Brown and his Defense thanks to strong performances from his two running backs and his Flex position.
